I must say I feel very grateful to have been brought up in such an amazingly beautiful place as Sweden. To breathe fresh ocean mist. To walk on long white beaches. To run on cliff rock Islands in the archipelago. To sail. To swim. To take a drive through the south east back countries. To be greeted by the sea when you’re over the hill. To take a midsummer dip in a lake further north. To admire the bountiful tress and if you take a train for a whole day you would end up in a place with crispy snow for winter skiing.

Nature is part of who I am. It is what counts. It can be hard and tuff and put you to the test but it also has the power of healing and the power of clarity. Like life itself.

Liv. Liv means life in Swedish.

As a young little girl I wanted to do theatre. I was drawn to the environment where people had to go deep to share themselves. Where you had to feel naked and draw from within.

I left home at sixteen to study theatre. It brought me to countries like Italy, Russia, the Czech Republic, even Africa. Or could you say love did it? A love for exploring. A love for wanting to learn. Or could you say urge did it? An urge to connect with people beyond borders. An urge to find my own call.

What can a voice express to you without you knowing the words? Maybe connection on some level. Maybe emotions. In theatre school I would learn songs from Ukraine, Hungary, and Armenia. It was such a great moment to be able to connect with people beyond language. With help from a friend I learned a couple of chords on a guitar and started to compose some of my own ideas. After a year of acting school in Stockholm I was invited to visit The Pacific Northwest of America. I ended up staying. I started singing in Swedish for the first timebecoming increasingly aware of where I am from. And I believe the best way I can give back to such an amazingly beautiful place is to work hard.

As hard as the first pioneers that came here to find land. I am peeling logs. I am digging the dirt. I am working through layers to find my own deep well. It is my wish to share myself and hopefully give back to the people and the country that allowed me to grow; to learn how to use the tools available so I can reach further and give back to the world I live in.
